Her power would just awaken at cliche times
last time it only activated because she was in trouble. probably a life preservation mode type thing. she’ll need to experiment later to figure out how to activate it on her own. i mean, she did only just now get the device, it would seem pretty odd if she immediately knew how to use it fully.
I highly doubt it was a self preservation mode thing. The thing on her back probably auto connected itself to her and saw extreme damage due to the breaker unit. It then proceeded to use an override code and took over her system. It was simply doing what it’s code parameters said to do.
