Hivemind has f***ed up on a level that most people have trouble conceiving, he will need anime protag levels of plot armor to even have a chance at getting out of this situation HALF-ALIVE, because he has literally zero chance at coming out in one recognizable piece.
pivot will probably rearrange his face before that happens.
Don’t think he needs the plot armor; there’s no way a guy named Hivemind has any less than a thousand back-up bodies.
Sockie, on the other hand, is right stranded within “gets killed to motivate the protagonist” territory. If anyone needs a 500mm layer of plot armor, it’s her.
You have a very valid point there, and it really makes sense.

Yeah, see, that’s a bad idea, chief. You didn’t want to escalate this, but now you have. You have engaged Pivot at this level, and now the game is different. At first, she was just going to pummel you and drag you off to prison, and that would have been the end of it. Now? You hurt a hair on Socket’s head, and Pivot’ll rip your shiny, metal ass in half and beat whatever’s left of you into a crater. My advice? Deescalate immediately, apologize profusely, and beg for only an intense thrashing.
